title: Blurry Line
instrumentation: four or more instruments
duration: indeterminate
written in: 2022
Blurry Line is a sequel to Thick Line. In the earlier piece, performers were given a score that specified everything but pitch; here, they’re given a score that specifies everything but rhythm. The result is a sort of freeform canon, in which everyone plays the same line, but out of sync and at different tempos, only coming together again at designated spots.
